God Of All Creation

“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:16).

The Lord Jesus, when He became a human, fed about five thousand people with only five loaves and two small fishes, and there were twelve baskets of leftovers (see John 6:5-13).

The people readily recognized that there was no other means to obtain food so readily, and afterwards they went looking for Jesus to get more food.

When they finally caught up with Him, He spoke to them saying, “I am telling you the truth: you are looking for me because you ate the bread and had all you wanted, not because you understood my miracles” (John 6:26 GNT).

The people did not stop to think that it was naturally impossible to feed about five thousand people with only five loaves and two small fishes, and that it was the Word of God that made it possible.

It was the Word of God that became human in the man Christ Jesus. The people who ran after Jesus looking for more bread had not seen that He was the Word in human form. They had not seen that He was the Miracle Word that fed them.

Jesus, however, taught the people to see the truth of the Word of God. That when God speaks, things are created, as it is written: “When he spoke, the world was created; at his command everything appeared” (Psalm 33:9 GNT).

All Scriptures are the spoken Word of God, the Word through which God created all things. Scriptures are the Son of God Himself, the writing of God, written through the apostles and prophets under the control of the Holy Spirit.

God who spoke the creation into existence is the Word, the Word we read in the Bible. “The universe was created by God’s word, so that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen” (Hebrews 11:3 GNT).

The Word of God is that Almighty Creator, and He is the Lord Jesus Christ, as it is written: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty” (Revelation 1:8).

God exists and operates solely through His Word. Jesus says, “I and My Father are one” (John 10:30). The God who created all things in the beginning is the Word, the invisible Word, and that invisible Word gave birth to the Bible.

We should believe in the Scriptures. The Word of God is our Maker. Let us bow before Him. “Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture” (Psalm 100:3).

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word, the Creator and the true supplier of all my needs, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Testimony Of Jesus

“I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (Revelation 19:10).

We can learn about the testimony of Jesus Christ from a little girl who was taken captive from the land of Israel by the Syrian army. She became a maid to Naaman’s wife. Naaman was the head of the whole Syrian army, but he was a leper.

The little girl spoke these words to Naaman’s wife: “If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy” (2 Kings 5:3).

These words were all that was needed to capture a great captain in the army to seek healing in an enemy’s nation. The Cold War or rather the ‘Hot War’ between the two rival nations was suspended because of the testimony of a little girl.

The little girl may have been taken captive but certainly she was not intimidated by it, because she had the spirit of prophecy. The testimony of Christ that was in her was greater. Through her testimony she took captive those who captured her.

In contrast, the apostate king of Israel at that time could not testify of Jesus Christ:  “And it happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and said, Am I God…to heal him of his leprosy?”(2 Kings 5:7).

Is it not sad that the number one citizen of God’s own nation had no knowledge of the testimony of Christ? The king did not know that the Word of God is the Christ who heals. That God “sent His word and healed them” (Psalm 107:20).

Elisha the prophet heard about the king’s distress at Naaman’s arrival and wrote to the king saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Please let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel” (2 Kings 5:8).

The prophet and the little girl had the testimony of the Word of God, which the king was ignorant of. Elisha and the little girl both knew how to conquer and make Naaman submit to the Word of God by their bold testimony of Christ.

Naaman’s story is just getting started. As Naaman was on his way to meet with Elisha the prophet, Elisha sent his servant to him, “saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean” (2 Kings 5:10).

The Bible says, “So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean” (2 Kings 5:14).

Please note that it was not the natural water of Jordan that healed Naaman. He was healed when he obeyed the Word of God from the mouth of Elisha the prophet. Elisha spoke what the Holy Spirit told him.

Now is your turn to sound the trumpet of Christ loud and clear for others to see the glory of the Bible. Paul wrote, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16).

PRAYER
Dear Father, fill my heart with the Spirit of the Bible that I may have power to preach your Word, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Foundation Of God

“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 3:11).

When Moses was about to die, he spoke at length with Israel, reminding them of their experience with God at Sinai. Moses said, God Himself wrote the Scriptures on the two tables of stone with His finger (see Deuteronomy 9:10).

All Scriptures are God-given and are kept alive by Him. The apostle Peter wrote, “For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:21).

Paul the apostle describes the household of God as being “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone” (Ephesians 2:20). Do you see the foundation?

He says, “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets.” Jesus Christ Himself is the foundation, the tables of stone, the chief corner stone, which God says He laid for a foundation in Zion (see Isaiah 28:16).

Every Word in the Bible originated from God. The Spirit of God wrote all Scriptures through the apostles and prophets, and the Word they wrote, which we have today in the Bible, is Christ Himself the Chief Corner Stone.

God gave us Christ through the written Word of God so that we can have faith in Him, and through faith in the Bible we might be saved. By faith in the only true Word of God we are delivered from false gods.

The foundation stone for all Believers is the Scriptures, which is Jesus Christ. Therefore Jesus says, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me” (John 12:44-45).

God is Word, the written Word in the Bible, and He is right here, in your presence right now. That is why today when we read and listen to the Scriptures we are hearing the Word of God directly.

We are saved through faith in the Bible. Scriptures say, “the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: The Lord knows those who are His, and, let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Timothy 2:19).

The church is built on the Bible, the solid Rock, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Jesus says, “Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock” (Matthew 7:24).

Build your faith on the Bible; all other ground is sinking sand. Without a foundation, the house falls. When “the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall” (Matthew 7:27).

PRAYER
Dear Lord, teach me the Scriptures so that I will stand on the holy ground of the Bible, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Good Confession

“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

Whom should we confess? We should confess the Word of God. Then what should we do? We should tell others the Bible truth that the Word of God is the resurrected Son of God, and then we shall be saved.

The apostle Peter wrote, “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).

Peter is saying that the Scripture is the confirmed Word of prophecy, confirmed by God Himself. He is the day dawn and the morning star. Do you know that the Bible is the Bright and the Morning Star?

The Bible is that confirmed prophetic Word. Peter says the Scripture is the greater Prophet. We have the greater speaker, who speaks better things, and if you believe and testify of this greater Prophet you shall be saved.

John the Baptist’s testimony of Christ is instructive, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, who are you? John responded with the truth, “He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, I am not the Christ” (John 1:20).

He did not keep quiet but spoke out and said, “I am not the Christ.” If he had been quiet, that would have meant denying Christ. John’s testimony did not end there, he spoke of Christ:

“John answered them, saying, I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know. It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose” (John 1:26-27).

Don’t we have the Bible? Is the Word not among us? Scripture says: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). He is with us. We should lift up the Word of God.

Jesus said this: “Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God. But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God” (Luke 12:8-9).

God wants us to confess the truth of the Scripture, and it is the work of God’s people to uphold the Bible. Jesus Himself said, “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up” (John 3:14).

The Word of God, the Word we read in the Bible, must be lifted up, must be exalted, must be advertised, the same way Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so that people may see Him and believe in Him so they might be saved.

PRAYER
Dear Lord, fill my heart and tongue with your Spirit and power to preach the gospel truth of the Bible, in Jesus name. Amen.

God Of The Bible

“And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life” (1 John 5:20).

God Himself, through the mouth of Isaiah, spoke of God of the Bible, when he prophesied, saying, “Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other (Isaiah 45:22).

If anyone did not understand, God elaborated saying, “I have sworn by Myself; the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath” (Isaiah 45:23).
God is speaking of His Word, the Word we read in the Bible, that God has highly elevated His Word and given Him a name, “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow” (Philippians 2:10).
The Almighty Father, the invisible Word, gave birth to the Scripture. God is a Spirit. What does that mean? God is Word. You cannot see Him. He is the invisible Word that gave birth to the visible Word we meet in the Holy Bible.
The Word we cannot see gave birth to the Word we can see and read. The Scripture He gave to us is His Son which is the Word we see. The Bible testifies of itself saying, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2).
When we read the Bible we are looking at the perfect Word of God, which is Christ the perfect Son of freedom. That’s why Jesus says, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36).
The Bible is that perfect truth and law of liberty, as James wrote saying: “He who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does” (James 1:25).
We gain knowledge of the only true God through the Scripture, which makes us free, as it is written: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). The Bible is the True—Consecrated—Word of God.
The God of the Bible is the Word. God has put all things under the authority of the Scripture, and made the Bible head over all things to the church, “which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” (Ephesians 1:23).
God commanded all God’s people to support and to preach this truth, that the Word of God in the Holy Bible is the only true God. Jesus says, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).
PRAYER
Dear Father, open my mind to see the glory of the Bible, the glory of the only begotten Son of God, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Book Of Life

“Search from the book of the Lord, and read: not one of these shall fail; not one shall lack her mate. For My mouth has commanded it, and His Spirit has gathered them” (Isaiah 34:16).

Every Word of God is living, as Jesus said: “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). The Bible is the manifested Word of Life which was with the Father.

God Himself, in the Bible says, “Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever? Yet surely My words and My statutes, which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers?”  (Zechariah 1:5-6).

We have the Bible today because it is the Book of the Covenant of God that abides forever, as it is written: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” (Matthew 24:35).

John wrote saying, “No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him” (John 1:18). It is only through the Bible we can have the true God to believe on and be saved.

The Word is the revelation of God and the express image of the very Father. “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).

Paul says, “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5). The Word of God is the only intermediary between God and mankind.

God so loved us that He manifested His own life in the Bible (see Colossians 1:19). All Scripture is Christ of whom God says, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, we should listen to Him.

That’s why Jesus says, “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:54). The Scripture is that bread of life, if anyone eats and drinks of it they shall live forever.

As God has life, so also the Word of God has life. The Bible is that Book of Life: “For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself” (John 5:26).

The Bible says, “Let him who hears say, come! And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 22:17). If anyone receives the Word of Life, God shall write their names in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, open my heart to receive the Book of Life, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Bible Truth

“For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17).

God gave His Word to the Israelites through Moses, but they did not know that the Holy Scripture was Christ. Therefore the Word of God became a human so that He would reveal the truth of the Bible to mankind.

That’s why Jesus says, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill” (Matthew 5:17). Jesus came into the world to turn everyone’s heart to the Holy Scripture.

The Word of God was the Man Christ Jesus: “That is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

It was the Word of God that became flesh and blood to reconcile us to the Word. Christ came to preach the Word to mankind, and to give the final and everlasting seal to the Holy Scripture, that the Bible is the Word of the invisible God.

God the Father gave birth to all Scripture. The invisible Word we cannot see gave birth to the Scripture we can see and read. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16).

The purpose why God gave us His Word is that we would receive the Scripture as the Son of God, as it is written: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).

God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit to preach the truth of the Bible. Which was why Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor” (Luke 4:18).

No one has seen God; it is through the Scripture alone we can see God. Jesus says, “No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven” (John 3:13).

The Holy Scripture is that Son of Man that came from heaven, whom God gave birth to: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Christ the Word of God is the substance of our hope, the evidence of our God, and the author and finisher of our faith, as it is written: “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2).

The Bible Truth is that the Scripture is the Son of God. All Scripture is the revelation of God Himself. Therefore Jesus prayed saying, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17). The Word of God is the true Son of God.

All Scripture is Jesus Christ. “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). “And His name is called The Word of God” (Revelation 19:13).

PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the revealed truth of the Bible, in Jesus name. Amen.

God Was Made Flesh

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory” (1 Timothy 3:16).

Isaiah foretold the coming of this God, when he prophesied saying, “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given… And His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God” (Isaiah 9:6).

If anyone was in doubt, Isaiah elaborated saying, “The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel” (Isaiah 9:8). He is Jesus Christ the Son of God.

At the time appointed by God, the Word of God, the Word we read in the Bible was made flesh. The eternal Word became flesh with a human body and was brought up in Nazareth. That is why He is called Jesus of Nazareth.

The apostle John wrote saying, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

When the Word became flesh, God told His angels to worship Him: “When He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says, let all the angels of God worship Him” (Hebrews 1:6).

That is why, when Jesus was born in Bethlehem, after the angel spoke to the shepherds. We read, “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God” (Luke 2:13).

Multitude of holy angels was praising God because the Word manifested in the flesh was God, as it is written: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1).

Philippians 2:9 says: “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him.” God has highly exalted the Holy Bible and given Him a name, the name of Jesus. Did you know that Jesus is the name of the Word of God?

God gave the Bible the name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, that everyone should confess that the Word of God is the Lord, and that He came as an actual flesh-and-blood person (see 1 John 4:2).

Today, we see Christ only through the Bible: “Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer” (2 Corinthians 5:16).

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank you for your Word, may my soul continue to sing your praises. Amen.

Evidence Of Christ

“You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me” (John 5:39).

Jesus says when the people read the Bible, they think of themselves and not the Scriptures. They do not think of Christ, but the Bible is Christ. And “you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life” (John 5:40).

The Father wants everyone to come to the Scriptures, because they are the very Christ, the living Word of God. Jesus says: “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

God gave the Israelites the Scriptures so that through the Holy Writing they could have the Word of God and have Him more abundantly; not only at that time He spoke to them in Mount Sinai, but every day of their lives.

They were supposed to abide in the Bible which is the Son of God. Jesus clearly said that He is the Word of God written in the Bible: “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me” (John 5:46).

After His resurrection Jesus opened the understanding of His disciples to see Him through the Bible: “And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself” (Luke 24:27).

Peter the apostle said, “But the word of the Lord endures forever. Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you” (1 Peter 1:25). All Scriptures are Christ, the holy apostles and prophets wrote of Him.

The Word of God is the Christ, which was the Scriptures that followed the Israelites for forty years in the wilderness, but the people did not receive the Spiritual Writing as the Son of God (see 1 Corinthians 10:4).

They heard the voice of God and saw the Ark of the Covenant. The Word was very near to them, even in their mouth. They could recite the Scriptures, but they did not believe that the very Word they were quoting is Christ the Son of the living God.

We should not only quote the Scriptures, but we should believe the personality of the Scriptures. This is the Son of God that proceeded from the invisible God. The Word in the Bible came directly from God (see 2 Timothy 3:16).

The Bible is the Evidence of Christ, the Word of God, written by the Holy Spirit of God. We are admonished to take to Him for God loved us so much that He gave us His only begotten Son (see John 3:16).
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, pour upon us the Spirit of the Bible. Amen.

A Place For God

“I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob” (Psalm 132:4-5).

David the king of Israel said he would not give sleep to his eyes, until he found an accommodation for the Mighty God of Jacob.
The Lord Jesus said to the Jews they made a great error for not knowing the Scriptures, that the Word of God is the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob (see Mark 12:24-27).

That’s why David declared that, until he found a place for the God of the Holy Scriptures, he would not sleep. Because he did so, he was made king to lead the whole nation of Israel.

Do you know that David was not born the king in Israel? It was the Lord, the everlasting King that made him the king, because David refused to go to bed until he made a dwelling place for the Word of God.

Have you made a place for this Mighty God of Israel in your heart? God is saying we should not put off reading our Bible. We all need to read our Bibles every day.

When David vowed and kept the vow, God knew him. Samuel the prophet did not know who David was. People may not know you, but God will know you. God knew David, because David knew the Word of God.

The Lord Jesus said that if anyone loves Him, they should keep the Scriptures in their hearts, and then His Father will love that person, and then that person will become a permanent house for the Word of God (see John 14:23).

David the king says he vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob (see Psalm 132:2). How did he make a vow? He made a decision. Do you know you need to make a decision today?

You should make a commitment and allocate a set time to read your Bible every day. Don’t say, “I’m going to start reading my Bible.” That is not enough. You must have a daily Bible reading plan, and you need to stick to it.

PRAYER
Dear Lord, fill me with love for the Bible. Amen.
