The Mind Of God

“For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthian 2:16).

The Bible identifies that there is a gap between our natural thoughts and God’s level of thinking. God says, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9).

Our thinking focuses on the natural temporary things and pleasures of this world, which is contrary to the eternal things of God: “Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God” (James 4:4).

The natural human interest tends to make us ignore the Word of God, and makes us enemies of God. John wrote, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15).

God’s desire is for us to understand His thoughts, and read His mind, and to think like He does. The Bible is God’s interest, and God also wants us to be interested in the Bible, that we should “desire the pure milk of the word” (1 Peter 2:2).

It is Scripture that provides the missing connection between us and God. The Bible gives us insight into the deep things, and the motivations and thinking of God: “God has revealed them to us through His Spirit” (1 Corinthians 2:10).

The Holy Spirit has revealed the mind of God to us in the Bible. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God: “For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:21).

God is calling us to understand His written Word, the Holy Bible, and to change our heart’s desires. Scripture says, “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them” (Ezekiel 36:27).

Though Jesus Christ is God, He submitted Himself completely to the Scripture, including death by crucifixion on the cross, in order to fulfill the Scripture. Therefore, “leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps” (1 Peter 2:21).

Jesus Christ clearly revealed that it was Scripture He was obeying as He said to those officers who came to arrest Him: “I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled” (Mark 14:49).

The Bible is the revelation and the mind of God. The Word of God is the only Mediator between God and mankind, which is Jesus Christ: “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).

God gave us the Holy Bible so that through the Scripture we would know the mind of God. “No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him” (John 1:18).

The Holy Bible is that only begotten Son of God, who is in the heart of the Father. Scripture is the true mind of God. That’s why Jesus says, “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me” (John 14:11).

God dwells in Scripture, and all Scripture is the mind of God, which is that same mind which was in Christ. The Lord wants us to mind the Bible, as it is written: “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5).

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, fill my heart with the Spirit of Scripture and make me spiritually minded, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Everlasting God

“Then Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God” (Genesis 21:33).

Scripture says Abraham called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God. Jesus Christ is the Lord and that Everlasting God, as it is written: “But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King” (Jeremiah 10:10).

The Lord Jesus created all things in the beginning (see Hebrews 1:10). Today, God maintains the creation through His powerful Word (see Hebrews 1:3). And God’s Word will forever direct the course of the creation (see 2 Peter 3:7).

That’s why the Bible says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). God’s Word has not changed, cannot change, and will never change. The Holy Scripture is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

The good news is that God so much loved mankind He gave us everlasting life through the Scripture. And everlasting life is to know Him the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He gave to us (see John 17:3).

God’s Word is the everlasting Son of God. “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son” (1 John 5:11). Anyone who believes that the Word is the Son of God has everlasting life (see John 3:36).

Jesus Christ is the written Word of God, which is the true and everlasting Word of God. Therefore Jesus says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” (Matthew 24:35).

It is the Word of God alone that has everlasting life because God dwells in Scripture. As the human spirit is the life of the human body, similarly God the Father is the life or the Spirit of His Son Jesus Christ (see John 5:26).

God gave everlasting life to His Son. There is one Spirit and one body (see Ephesians 4:4). The Spirit is the Father, and the body is the Son. The Father and the Son are one. That’s why Jesus says, “I and My Father are one” (John 10:30).

The Spirit of Christ is God Himself. Which is why Jesus says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner” (John 5:19).

Whoever believes in the Scripture and receives the Bible as the Word of God shall be saved. God gave us the Holy Bible as the lifeline for our salvation: “For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame” (Romans 10:11).

God’s Word is the Lord Jesus Christ. “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). The only way to be saved is to believe in the Scripture. Faith in the Holy Word of God alone is salvation (see Acts 4:12).

It is God that is speaking directly to us through the Bible. Scripture is the true Word of God Himself. Therefore God has highly elevated the Bible and given Him the highest name of Jesus Christ (see Philippians 2:9).

The Bible is that everlasting Son and the eternal home of God, which is Jesus Christ, the Everlasting God. Jesus says, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able” (Luke 13:24).

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I thank you for showing me the Bible gate to everlasting life, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Eyes Of God

“For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the Lord, which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth” (Zechariah 4:10).

The greatest eyesight on earth is the powerful eyes of Jesus Christ, and “there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13).

One of the titles of God is “You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees” (Genesis 16:13). The Word of God is that powerful eyes of God that sees into our innermost thoughts and desires, exposing us for what we really are (see Hebrews 4:12).

Scripture says the Lamb of God has seven eyes: “And in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth” (Revelation 5:6).

Jesus Christ is that Lamb of God with seven eyes. The Bible says that the next day John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29).

The Holy Scripture is the cleansing blood of the Lamb of God that removes sin and iniquity from our heart. That’s why Jesus says, “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you” (John 15:3).

God wants us to study the Bible until we all come to the knowledge of the true God. Christ the Word is that true and perfect Spirit of freedom: “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (2 Corinthians 3:17).

Like newborn child we should desire the sincere milk of Scripture to grow in the knowledge of God. The Scripture is that milk God wants us to drink until the truth of the Bible is formed in our hearts, “which is Christ in you” (Colossians 1:27).

Jesus Christ came to open the eyes of our mind that we might understand the Scripture. The knowledge of the true God is in the Holy Bible. The Scripture is the only true God, which is Jesus Christ (see 1 John 5:20). All other gods are idols.

Scripture is that Stone with seven eyes (see Zechariah 3:9), which is Christ the written and living Stone. Peter wrote, “Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious” (1 Peter 2:4).

God gave us the Scripture to open the eyes of our understanding that we may have the perfect knowledge of the true God. Jesus says, “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48).

Scripture is that perfect Word of liberty (see James 1:25), which is Christ the true God and the Saviour of our souls, as it is written: “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple” (Psalm 19:7).

The Bible is that seven Spirits and perfect Eyes of God sent to all nations, which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth, and we should be aware that our God is indeed watching us: “The eyes of the Lord are in every place” (Proverbs 15:3).

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Living God

“Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God” (Hebrews 3:12).

God spoke to the Israelites before He gave them the Scripture. The people “heard the voice of the living God speaking from the midst of the fire” (Deuteronomy 5:26).

But the people did not believe in the Scripture, they rejected Him.

Again, the living God spoke to the people through prophets, as it is written: “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets” (Hebrews 1:1). And the people did not receive the Word.

Finally, the living God manifested as Jesus Christ. John wrote, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

God Himself confirmed that Jesus is the Word. Peter wrote, “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).

Scripture is that confirmed prophetic Word, which is Jesus Christ. The Scripture never came by the will of humans, but holy prophets of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (see 2 Peter 1:21).

All Scripture is the Word of the living God, which He spoke through the prophets and apostles. Scripture is that foundation of the apostles and prophets, which is Jesus Christ Himself, the Chief Corner Stone (see Ephesians 2:20).

The living God so much loved mankind He gave us His living and powerful Word. “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13).

Everyone must appear before the judgment seat of Christ the living Scripture (see 2 Corinthians 5:10). John wrote, “And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books” (Revelation 20:12).

Jesus Christ is that living God or living Word who revealed Himself through the Scripture. “No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him” (John 1:18).

It is Scripture that gives us access to the true God. The Word is that true and living God. There is no other way to see God except through the Bible, which is Christ the Word of the living God (see Ephesians 2:18).

In fact, the Father wants us to receive the Scripture as the living God. “Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you” (1 Peter 1:25). The God of the Bible is the Word, which is Jesus Christ the living God (see John 1:1).

Anyone who comes to the Scripture has come to that living God, which is Christ the Chief Corner Stone, as it is written: “Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious” (1 Peter 2:4).

Today, Christ the living Scripture is knocking at the door of our hearts saying, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, set my heart on fire by your living Word, in Jesus name. Amen.

Highway To God

“A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, shall not go astray” (Isaiah 35:8).

The Highway of God is not a natural highway, but that way which enables us have direct access to the only true God. It is Scripture that makes it possible for us to see God and return to Him.

When Jesus says, “I am the way” (John 14:6), He is saying that He’s the Word of God, and that no one can come to the Father except through the Scripture. The Bible is that true and only Highway to God.

Jesus came to make us free by showing us the Father. The Word of God is the only begotten Son of God who became a human, lived, died, rose again and ascended to the position of the Father. That’s why Jesus says, “I and My Father are one” (John 10:30).

Scripture is that perfect and proven way which leads to God. Through the Bible we put our trust in God, as it is written: “As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him” (Psalm 18:30).

The Bible affirms that God came to reveal Himself through Jesus Christ: “That God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself” (2 Corinthians 5:19). Today we have freedom to approach God with boldness by the blood of Jesus Christ (see Hebrews 10:19).

Whether we know it or not, everyone is a vehicle, which must be driven. Each vehicle is driven, either by evil words or by the pure Word of God. The driver of the vehicle determines the destination of each and every one of us.

Just imagine that there are two vehicles: A and B. Car A is owned by a driver who is always drunk and repeatedly involved in violent collisions. Car B is owned by a driver who never drinks, always sober and never had a crash.

Car A has a peculiar and a potential problem, not because there is anything wrong with the vehicle itself, but rather, because there is something wrong with the driver who might crash the vehicle at any time.

The Lord Jesus says He is that good, sober driver who can take possession of us and deliver us from the hand of the drunk driver, which is the devil. The Word of God is Jesus Christ, and He’s that good driver and shepherd (see John 10:10-11).

Scripture is the only sober driver that can safely bring us to God. Every other is evil driver that leads to destruction. The psalmist wrote, “I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Your word” (Psalm 119:101).

God wants to bring us to Himself through His Word. We can actually experience the reality of Christ today. Whoever comes to the Scripture and believe that the Word of God is the Son of God, has entered God’s Highway that leads to eternal life.

The Holy Bible is that narrow way, which leads to eternal life. Jesus says, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it” (Matthew 7:13).

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for giving us the Bible, the true Highway to God, in Jesus name. Amen.

God Is With Us

“The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge” (Psalm 46:7).

The greatest discovery on earth is the amazing discovery of Jesus Christ, that God so much loved mankind He became a human.  God was made flesh to reveal Himself to us, and that “He is not far from each one of us” (Acts 17:27).

Paul wrote, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory” (1 Timothy 3:16).

The Word of God became a human to demonstrate God’s love toward mankind. “In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him” (1 John 4:9).

God of the Holy Scripture is the true God, which is Jesus Christ who became a human. Jesus Christ was “declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead” (Romans 1:4).

By His resurrection from the dead Jesus Christ swallowed up death. The true God was “revealed by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2 Timothy 1:10).

The Word of God became a human to die and rise again so that we may know Him, the only true God that is among us. And God gave “assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead” (Acts 17:31).

Jesus Christ died and rose again from the dead to prove that He is that Almighty God. There is no power in the universe that can stop Him. Jesus says, “I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again” (John 10:18).

God’s Word can do anything He wants; whenever He wants. The Lord Jesus is the true God. All other gods are forgeries of the devil: “But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King” (Jeremiah 10:10).

When we see the Word of God as the true God we would realize that God is indeed with us, and that God is the Holy Scripture which abides forever. “Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you” (1 Peter 1:25).

Scripture is that true God who is in our midst when we gather together in church meetings. That’s why Jesus says, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).

The Word of God is the living God that is with us, which shines in our hearts to give us the knowledge of the true God. The psalmist wrote, “The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple” (Psalm 119:130).

God’s desire is to have fellowship with mankind through His Word. Jesus says, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (John 14:23).

The Holy Scripture is the only begotten Son of God, which is that true God among us. Whoever looks into the Scripture is looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (see Hebrews 12:2).

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the revelation of Christ the Word of God with us, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Good God

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” (Psalm 34:8).

The best news on earth is the Good News of Jesus Christ, that God so much loved mankind He gave us eternal life through His Word. Jesus says, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

God sent His Word to give us eternal life. “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3). Nothing is greater than this, that the good God gave us eternal life.

Eternal life is to know the only true God. Jesus Christ came into this world to reveal the true God to us. John wrote, “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17).

It was Jesus Christ that gave us the knowledge of the true God. The true God is He that came from heaven, which is Christ the Word of God: “For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world” (John 6:33).

The Lord Jesus is that true God. All other gods are imaginations, they don’t exist: “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God” (Isaiah 44:6).

Christ is that God the Creator. Paul wrote, “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6).

It was the Lord Jesus that said, “Let there be light; and there was light” (Genesis 1:3). All things were created by Him: “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth” (Psalm 33:6).

The Holy Scripture is the face of God, which shines in our hearts to give us the knowledge of God, until the truth of the Bible arises in our hearts. The Word is the good Lord from heaven. And “The Lord our God is one Lord” (Mark 12:29).

From the Scripture we learn that Jesus Christ is that good Shepherd who gave His life to the sheep. Christ is the good Lord “who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood” (Revelation 1:5).

The Word is the living God that came from heaven, which is Jesus Christ, as it is written: “That we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life” (1 John 5:20).

Scripture is the eternal life God gave to us. The Word of God is the everlasting life. Jesus says, “And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak” (John 12:50).

The Word of God is that food and drink from the good God, which we must eat to have everlasting life. That’s why Jesus says, “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:54).

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, fill me up with the truth of the Bible till I overflow, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Word Of Life

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).

Jesus says God’s Word is living, that the spoken and written words of God are spirit and they are life: “For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself” (John 5:26).

God gave birth to all Scripture, which is that everlasting Son of God. The Holy Scripture is God’s culminating self-expression of Himself. The Bible is the true Word of God, and the real person of Jesus Christ.

All Scripture is God’s inspired and infallible revelation of Himself. That’s why Jesus says, “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him” (John 14:7).

Without the Bible, we would be dealing with imaginations. The Bible is the Word of God embodied as a spiritual person, which is Jesus Christ. Paul wrote, “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily” (Colossians 2:9).

It is through the Scripture that we learn of God’s love toward mankind and His purpose to save them. Through the Word of God we know what God is like. That’s why Jesus says, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9).

Scripture is the Word of life that was with the Father in eternity before ever the world was made, as it is written: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1).

In the Old Testament God revealed His Word through the prophets while in the New Testament God revealed His Word through the Scripture, which is Jesus Christ, the express image of the person of God (see Hebrews 1:1-3).

The truth of the written and spoken Word of God was personified in Jesus Christ. The Scripture that God revealed through the prophets during the Old Testament period was made human in Christ. Hence the Word became flesh (see John 1:14).

In Christ the Scripture was manifested as a living person. John wrote, “The life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us” (1 John 1:2).

Scripture is that eternal Word of life that became flesh, which is Jesus Christ, the true Creator that created all things in the beginning: “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made” (John 1:3).

God gave all authority to the Scripture to give eternal life. The Word of God has power to raise the dead.  Jesus says, “For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will” (John 5:21).

The Word of God is that Son of God who gives life, which is Jesus Christ, the life-giving Spirit. “And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit” (1 Corinthians 15:45).

Scripture is that Word of life, which is Jesus Christ, the resurrection and the life-giving Spirit. Therefore Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live” (John 11:25).

PRAYER:
Dear heavenly Father, fill me with your Word so that Christ the living Word of God will dwell in my heart richly, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Good Shepherd

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep” (John 10:11).

The Lord Jesus referred to Himself as the Good Shepherd who gives His life to feed the sheep. That’s why Jesus says, “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you” (John 6:53).

God foretold of this one true Shepherd who gives His life to feed the sheep, saying, “I will establish one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them—My servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd” (Ezekiel 34:23).

The sheep of God’s pasture are His people and Christ the Lord is their Shepherd: “Then they will know that I, the Lord their God, am with them, and that they, the people of Israel, are My people, says the Lord God” (Ezekiel 34:30).

All believers in Christ are God’s people, and Christ the Word of God is their Shepherd. As shepherds tended to their livestock and brings them into one fold, so God gathers His people into the one house of the Bible.

Christ gave His life to all mankind, both Jews and Gentiles. Jesus says, “And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd” (John 10:16).

The “other sheep” clearly refers to the non-Jewish believers. Jesus is the Good Shepherd over all who believe in Him. The Word of God is that loving caretaker of God’s people, which is Christ, “that great Shepherd of the sheep” (Hebrews 13:20).

Every child of God hears the voice of Scripture. God offered Himself as the one true Shepherd by the Scripture. Whoever believes in Christ obeys the Scripture. Jesus says, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed” (John 8:31).

Anyone who returns to the Scripture will receive God’s life abundantly. Peter wrote, “For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls” (1 Peter 2:25).

Scripture is that Overseer of our souls, and He is superior to any human leader. Whoever believes in the Scripture shall never be disappointed: “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).

God is not like humans that make empty promises: “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”(Numbers 23:19).

The Word of God is the restorer of our souls. The good news in Scripture comforts our mind in this violent and troubled world. God’s Word is the refuge and anchor to all who believes in Him (see Hebrews 6:17-19).

God loved us so much He gave us His life through the Scripture, which is Christ the Son of God.  John wrote, “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son” (1 John 5:11).

The Word of God is the Good Shepherd who gives His life to everyone that believes in Him. Scripture is that door into the sheepfold, if anyone enters by Him they will be saved, and will go in and out and find God’s life (see John 10:9).

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank you for your Word, my Good Shepherd, which leads me in the path of righteousness, in Jesus name. Amen.

Keep The Scripture

“Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (John 14:23).

The written Word of God is what Jesus says we should keep if we love Him. All Scripture is God’s written Word, which today refers to the entire Holy Bible (see 2 Timothy 3:16).

God wants us to receive His Word and keep all Scripture as the Son of God. The Father gave birth to all Scripture, which is His Son, “and His name is called The Word of God” (Revelation 19:13).

When we see the Word of God as the Son of God, we would realize that Scripture is the very person of Christ. The Holy Spirit of God gave birth to all Scripture, which is Christ, the living Word of God (see 2 Peter 1:19-21).

Jesus clearly said that Scripture points to Him, that all Scripture are Christ: “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me” (John 5:39).

Anyone who loves God will also love the Scripture which is begotten of God. John wrote, “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3).

Whoever receives the Word and believes that Scripture is the Word of God has believed God: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).

Jesus Christ is the name of the Word of God, which is that elevated name God gave to the Holy Scripture: “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:9).

God gave us the Scripture so that we would receive Him as our Saviour Jesus Christ. Jesus says, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7).

Everyone who believes and confesses that Scripture is the Word of God has put on Christ. Paul wrote, “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Galatians 3:27).

The Word of God is the new creation that should be formed in our hearts. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

God wants us to treasure Scripture and keep His Word as the Christ. When we have the Word of God stored or hidden in our hearts, and we treasure Scripture as the Son of God, the Father will form the new creation in our mind.

Scripture is that new creation which is formed in the hearts of all who believes that Christ is the Word of God: “And that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:24).

If anyone keeps the Scripture as the Word of God that lives and abides forever, then they are Christ disciples indeed. Scripture is Christ the Word of God: “Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you” (1 Peter 1:25).

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, create in me a new heart; and fill my mind with the Spirit of Scripture so that your Word will flow out of my mouth, in Jesus name. Amen.
