Chosen By God

“Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious” (1 Peter 2:4).

God’s desire is to make us children of God through His Son Jesus Christ: “Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love” (Ephesians 1:4).

Scripture is that beloved Son of God without blame, which is Jesus Christ. Paul wrote, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).

God wants us to believe that His Word is the Son of God. Jesus says, “And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:40).

If we understand that the Holy Scripture is the Word of God, we would realise that He is indeed the chosen and precious Son of God. The Almighty God gave birth to all Scripture, which is Christ, the living Word of God (see 2 Timothy 3:16).

Whoever receives the Word and believes that Scripture is the Son of God is adopted into God’s family, as it is written: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).

Jesus Christ is the New Testament name of the Word of God, which is that elevated name God gave to the Holy Scripture: “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:9).

The Word of God is the chosen Son of God that abides forever. God gave us the Scripture so that we would receive Him as the true Son of God, and be adopted into God’s family. “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36).

Scripture is that Word of God, who became a human, died and was raised, and ascended up into glory. Paul wrote, “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

Whoever believes and confesses that Scripture is the Word of God shall be saved. The Word is the resurrection and the life-giving Spirit. That’s why Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live” (John 11:25).

When we believe in the Holy Scripture and receive the Word of God into our hearts as the Son of God, the Father of the Scripture will love us and form the new man in our mind, “which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).

Scripture is that new man that forms in the hearts of anyone who believes that Jesus Christ is the Word of God: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

God’s sons and daughters are those who have been born again through the Holy Scripture: “Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever” (1 Peter 1:23).

It is through the Holy Bible we are born unto God, and become joint-heirs with Christ the chosen Word of God. “And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”  (Galatians 4:6).

The Bible is the Son of God, and He’s that living Stone with a new name which is above every name, “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth” (Philippians 2:10).

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me to live in your Word, and to move in your Word, and to abide in your Word forever, in Jesus name. Amen.
