Christ In God

“At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you” (John 14:20).
Jesus said to His disciples, when He became human, that when He returns to where He was before, to the place where He came from, then they would know that He is in the Father.

John the apostle wrote that Jesus spoke these words to His disciples: “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3).
Jesus was saying that when He returns to the Father, His disciples would know that He is in the Father, and they also would be in Him and He would be in them. Today Christ has returned to that position of the Father.
Now we don’t see Christ anymore in the flesh, as Paul wrote, “Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer” (2 Corinthians 5:16).
After Jesus was glorified His disciples knew that He is in the Father and the Father is in Him. That is, “He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things” (Ephesians 4:10).
The same Jesus who descended and became a human being was the same that ascended far above the heavens: “And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church” (Ephesians 1:22).
That’s why Jesus says, that in the day when He returns to the position of the Father, the disciples would know that He is that Father who descended, and He also ascended. Then the hearts of His disciples will turn to Him, the only true God.
The disciples would know that Christ came from God, and again has returned to God. John wrote, “Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God” (John 13:3).
Who is God? Scriptures say, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). God is Word; the very Word in the Bible.
The Word became a human so that He would die and be raised the third day into the glory of the Father. “The glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
Christ is the Word of God, and He has returned to that position of the Word where He was before. Jesus says, “I did come from the Father, and I came into the world; and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father” (John 16:28 GNT).
The Bible is that prepared position of the Father, the throne of His Majesty where Christ is seated. Scriptures say, “Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus…and he is now seated at the right side of God’s throne” (Hebrews 12:2 GNT).
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, lead me home to the Father’s house, so that my heart will be where you are. Amen.
