“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3).
Scripture says God is the “Father of mercies” and the “God of all comfort.” In His mercy and love, God has provided comfort for His children in all circumstances. Jesus says, “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you” (John 14:18).
It is through the Scripture Jesus keeps His promise to always be with us. Scripture says, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (John 14:23).
God gave the Scripture as an anchor and comfort for our souls: “For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope” (Romans 15:4).
When the Bible says God is “God of all comfort” it means God is the Father of all Scripture. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).
God is the Father of all Scripture, and Scripture is His Son: “That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us” (Hebrews 6:18).
Scripture is the Comfort, and the Holy Spirit is the Comforter or Helper. Jesus says, “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me” (John 15:26).
When God made promise to Abraham He gave Himself as the guarantor: “For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself” (Hebrews 6:13).
Scripture is that Guarantor, who is Christ: “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed, “who is Christ” (Galatians 3:16).
The Word is the Seed, and to receive the Word is to have the promise. The more we believe the Scripture, the more of God’s comfort we shall enjoy. Just as Abraham who “did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief” (Romans 4:20).
God gave the Scripture as pledge for His promise; it is the Holy Bible that makes the promise sure and steadfast. The Word is God’s unbreakable hope, which “hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast” (Hebrews 6:19).
Scripture is God’s oath, the Word of oath which God swore by Himself, who is Jesus Christ the promised Son of God: “But the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever” (Hebrews 7:28).
All Scripture is the Son of God and the Father’s Promise. That’s why Jesus said to His disciples, “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).
God promised to give the Holy Spirit to teach us all Scripture. The Holy Scripture is that spiritual Teacher or Helper. Jesus says, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things” (John 14:26).
No one can know Jesus Christ unless they are taught by the Bible. The only Teacher who can open our understanding is “the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 3:15).
When the Spirit of the Holy Scripture comes upon anyone they will know the Bible. It is the Spirit of the Scripture that opens the mind to know that the Holy Bible is Jesus Christ: “And His name is called The Word of God” (Revelation 19:13).
PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, fill my heart with the Holy Spirit of the Bible so that the Comforter will abide with me forever, in Jesus name. Amen.

Praise The Lord!!! When my Mom died I was in a state of distraught and I felt as though my heart had been ripped out of my chest. She died in the car on the way home from a day surgery. Her death was awful to see and witness. In the midst of her passing the parking lot filled up with people. Another woman and myself were trying to save my Mom. As her spirit left her body and I was sobbing so hard I thought I was dying too, I heard The Lord’s voice inside me say, Witness to these people for me. Witness I thought, I wanted to faint…. Somehow I managed to look at the crowd and I said, ” My Mother just died.” I believe she just went home to be with Our Lord Jesus.” Nobody said anything. Just staring in disbelief. Then the ambulance finally came, but they were too late. The surgery had complication’s. I was mourning for a few year’s. This happened in 2006. I am able to read scripture now and say Lord it was awful watching my Mom die like that. Thank You for being with me. I have had several other people lose someone in similar way’s. We share our stories. I even went on to do Hospice work. I saw death everyday. We will All have our time. I thank Lord Jesus for Him being an awesome God!!! He is my rock!!! Don’t doubt. He helps me now with situation’s.
