The God Of Peace

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).

God gave eternal peace to mankind through His Word. Jesus Christ is God’s everlasting covenant of peace. The Holy Bible is God’s covenant, which covenant “we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast” (Hebrews 6:19).

The great Peacemaker is God; He sent His Word of peace, and therefore He is indeed the God of peace. “The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all” (Acts 10:36).

God Himself is peace, and to know God is to have peace. The more we believe the Scripture, the more of God’s peace we shall enjoy: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3).

When Satan instigated war in heaven, God smote Satan and cast him and his entire evil rebel angels out of heaven by His Word: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” (Revelation 12:11).

God restored peace in heaven by His powerful Word, for He drove Satan out of heaven, and expelled him by His flaming “sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17).

When Adam fell, God made peace with him through His powerful Word—the great Peacemaker: “Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9). Notice it was God who goes after Adam to make peace with him.

Although all have sinned against God, but God still came to us as the Peacemaker. “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

God the Father made eternal covenant of peace through Jesus Christ before the creation of the world. Before we were born God made peace with us, perfect peace through His Son Jesus Christ: “For He Himself is our peace” (Ephesians 2:14).

Jesus Christ is our peace; not only the maker of peace, but God’s peace; and since there was Christ before the creation, then there was peace before we were created: “And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist” (Colossians 1:17).

And since there will always be Scripture, so there will always be peace between God and everyone interested in God’s covenant of peace, which is the Holy Bible that abides forever. “The word of the Lord endures forever” (1 Peter 1:25).

The Holy Scripture is God’s everlasting covenant of peace, who is Jesus Christ, the only Mediator between God and mankind: “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).

God appointed His Word the King of peace, and gave all authority to the Bible to bring everlasting peace to the whole world. Scripture says all the kingdoms of mankind shall become the kingdoms of our Lord Jesus Christ (see Revelation 11:15).

Everlasting peace shall be consummated on earth when the enemy is crushed. “The last enemy that will be destroyed is death” (1 Corinthians 15:26). “For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible” (1 Corinthians 15:52).

Scripture says a time is coming when there shall be peace on earth because death is destroyed. Christ, the Son of God shall descend from heaven with a shout, and “the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live” (John 5:25).

Jesus Christ is that God who swallowed up death: “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, fill my heart and mind with the peace of God which is much greater than the human mind, in Jesus name. Amen.
