“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthian 3:16).
God created mankind so that He would dwell in us through the Spirit of His Word; the only way God can dwell in us is through the Holy Scripture. Paul wrote, “Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His” (Romans 8:9).
Scripture is that Spirit of Christ, and anyone who has the Spirit of Scripture belongs to God. The Spirit of the Bible is the Holy Spirit of freedom. “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (2 Corinthians 3:17).
God so much loved humans He gave us the Holy Bible so that through the Scripture He can make us children of God: “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).
The Holy Scripture is the Son of God, the pure and forever settled Word of God. Whoever believes the Scripture will not be disappointed. “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him” (Proverbs 30:5).
All children of God have the Scripture residing in them, that’s what makes us the temple of the Holy Spirit. “And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” (Galatians 4:6).
Whoever loves God will also keep His Word in their heart. Paul wrote, “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19).
It is through the Bible we become the temple of the Holy Spirit, bought by the Scripture and for the Scripture. “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:20).
When we love and keep the Scripture, the Spirit of the Bible will also love us. Jesus says, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (John 14:23).
The Spirit of Christ cannot dwell in our natural mind, but rather in a new spiritual mind (the mind that has repented and received the Bible as the truth.) The Scripture is the truth, which is Jesus Christ the true Word of God (see John 17:17).
We must receive the Son of God, which is the Word of God, before we can receive the Spirit of the Bible, which is the Father. Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
The greatest thing we can do for our body is to make it the temple of the Holy Spirit. The moment we place our trust and faith in the Bible, the indwelling of the Spirit of Scripture takes place in our hearts (see John 7:37-39).
Paul wrote, “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise” (Ephesians 1:13).
God gives the Holy Spirit as everlasting inheritance to anyone who loves and keeps the Scripture in their heart (see John 14:15-16). And only those people who have the Spirit of the Holy Bible, are the children of God (see Romans 8:14).
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, fill me with the Spirit of the Holy Bible so that I will become the temple of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name. Amen.
